About This Coffee

Gitare Factory is located in the Kiambu region of Kenya and falls under the Gititu Farmers Cooperative Society, which was founded in 1954. The station processes coffee cherries from approximately 1,000 smallholder farmers and serves around 2,500 tons of coffee annually. Farmers here often grow bananas and corn in addition to coffee, and use the pulp from coffee cherries mixed with compost as a natural fertilizer
