Father's Coffee Roastery

About This Coffee

This specialty coffee from Nicaragua, specifically from the Los Nubarrones farm, originates on sandy loam soil high in the mountains of the Mozonte region. The farm was founded in 2012 by Mariano Montealegre, who from the beginning decided to grow exclusively the Java variety. The coffee trees grow here under the shade of pine, guava, and liquidambar trees, in a protected microclimate near the highest peak of Nicaragua, Cerro Mogoton. Processing takes place at the Cafetos de Segovia station in Ocotal, which is run by sisters Ana and Martha Albir. The station ensures careful and high-quality processing not only for Los Nubarrones but also for dozens of other local producers. During harvest, it receives up to 30 tons of coffee per day. This coffee from Nicaragua is processed using anaerobic fermentation, i.e., fermentation without access to oxygen, and subsequent natural drying. This modern processing method enhances the sweetness, complexity, and velvety texture of the coffee. Los Nubarrones coffee is based exclusively on the Java variety, which is known for its delicate, floral character and distinct sweetness. Thanks to ideal growing conditions and precise processing, it offers an unforgettable taste experience
