Kolumbien Casa Negra - washed
About This Coffee
About the coffee: This regional coffee has delighted us in the cup with its fruity and well-integrated citrus notes. And we owe that - which makes it particularly exciting for us - to a large extent to the special terroir and climate of the region from which it comes: the Departamento de Nariño in southwestern Colombia. Because the region is one of the highest growing areas for Colombian coffees. The high altitude brings cooler temperatures than lower-lying areas, which leads to slower growth of the coffee cherries - and thus a higher sugar concentration. In addition, the soil is heavily interspersed with volcanic ash, which has a positive effect on the health of the plants due to the many naturally occurring nutrients, but also on the complexity of the cup.
