Werka - Espresso

About This Coffee

This sweet and fruit-forward coffee was grown by small-scale farmers near the village of Werka in the Sidama region. At harvest time, these growers pick and deliver their ripe coffee cherries to the Aash washing station. This lot was then expertly processed using the natural method: the cherries were dried whole, in the sun, with the beans still inside. The microclimate of this region is heavily influenced by the forest, with cooler and wetter conditions than in most of Ethiopia
