The lands that make up Hacienda La Esmeralda were first brought together as a single estate by a Swede named Hans Elliot in 1940. In 1967, a Swedish- American banker by the name of Rudolph A. Peterson (1904-2003) bought Hacienda La Esmeralda as a retirement venture. Today, Hacienda La Esmeralda is renowned for its high-end, top quality coffees. Esmeralda Special Geisha is a collection of high elevation Geisha (1,600 – 1,800 masl) with cupping scores of over 91 points. Each microlot is unique in nature, exceptional in character and thoroughly pleasing to the palate. Classic jasmine, bergamot, stonefruits and berries are some of the singular floral and fruit notes that make up the Esmeralda Special signature taste.
