Gititu

Apollon's Gold

About This Coffee

This is our very first purchase from Gititu, and our first time trying Kiambu's terroir as well. It was one that surprised us during cupping, and we're very excited to introduce Gititu to you all. This coffee mostly consists of SL28, but also has small amounts of both Ruiru11 and Batian. The altitude of this lot is relatively low for a Kenya, but surprised us with a very pleasant juiciness like the best Kenyans have, alongside some wine-like black currant flavors reminiscent of a good Pinot Noir. It's also got some surprisingly delightful florals which we weren't expecting with a low-grown Kenya. In the cup we find white peach in the forefront, with a wine-like juicy black currant, followed by orange blossom florals in the finish.
